The
package with the original documentation
was sent via EMS (Tracking No.
EE 0021 3495 0 BY) to the Office
of the Nobel Foundation on November
29, 2003. In a telephone call
the Nobel Foundation stated
that the documentation had not
been received and asked for
a copy of the documentation
to be sent.
The
package with the copy of the
documentation addressed to the
Nobel Prize Foundation was sent
immediately via UPS (Tracking
No. M095 5139 734) on January
16, 2004. According to UPS delivery
records the package was received
by Ms. Lindbeck of the Nobel
Foundation on January 19, 2004
at 09.38 a.m.
On
Monday January 19, 2004 Ms.
Swensson from the Nobel Foundation
confirmed that the package had
been received and sent on to
the Nobel Committee for Chemistry.
On
Thursday, January 22, 2004 Ms..
Luisse Dahldren from the Nobel
Committee for Chemistry (Tel.
+46 867 39 500) said that she
had not yet received the package
from the Nobel Foundation and
asked to be called again on
January 26.
On
January 26, 2004 Ms Dahldren
(Tel. + 46 867 39 500) confirmed
again that no package had been
delivered from the Nobel Foundation.
She also said that documentation
for candidates would only be
accepted until Friday, January
31, 2004 and no further documentation
would be accepted after that
date. She asked for another
copy of the documentation to
be sent immediately.
On
January 26, 2004 another copy
of the documentation was sent
via UPS (Tracking No. M095 075
8682) to the Nobel Committee.
At
11.00 a.m. on January 26, Ms
Swensson said she would try
to trace the package and asked
to be called at 4.00 p.m..
Ms.
Swensson could not be reached
at 4 p.m. on January 26, 2004.
The secretary suggested calling
again on January 27.
Ms.
Swensson was called on January
27, 2004 at 10.00 a.m.. She
was not in the office and her
secretary asked to call again
on January 28. When the secretary
was asked to connect with somebody
who could confirm that the package
had been received, she put through
to Ms Annika Ekdahl. Ms. Ekdahl
promised to attend to the package
and to inform about the result
during the course of the day.
On
January 27, 2004 at 01.00 p.m.
Ms. Luisse Dahldren confirmed
that she had received the package
with the documentation which
was sent on January 26.
On
January 28 2004 at 09.15 a.m.
Ms Ekdahl of the Nobel Foundation
informed us that she had received
the package with the documentation,
which was sent on January 16,
2004, and promised that she
would forward the package to
the Nobel Committee for Chemistry
that same day. She also said
she could not understand why
the package was not delivered
to the Committee on January
19, 2004, just after it was
delivered by UPS.
On
January 29, 2004 Ms. Luisse
Dahldren confirmed that she
had also received the package
from the Nobel Foundation. She
also said that both packages
were registered and would be
forwarded to the person responsible.
